Chase is 1 month old and growing more every day. Not only are his newborn-sized clothes getting tight, but he's also eating for a long time much more often, so we think he's going through a growth spurt. Unfortunately, he's very frustrated with the fact that supply is not keeping up with demand so he has been a very fussy baby the past few days. He's not napping as long and was up for 2 hours straight on Tuesday night. He even gets frustrated when I try to burp him in the middle of a feeding. All of this has made for a very tired and fussy Mommy as well. No one told us that the first two weeks were easy compared to the next 2-4. We thought the beginning would be the worst, but they were relatively easy and gave us false confidence. It's much more difficult now. All you parents-to-be heed this warning!
In honor of this special occasion, here are some things that Chase does that we love:
-He smiles...sometimes. We're afraid he's forgotten how with all his frowns this week!
-He opens his mouth and bangs it against a shoulder or boob when he's hungry
-He makes all different faces and expressions when he's falling asleep
-He loves sleeping between us and cuddles with us in bed
-He loves the bath but hates getting out
-When he's about to poop or spit-up, he grunts. Sometimes he spends a half hour grunting and we try to figure out what's wrong. Then he poops or spits up and we remember that we should know this by now.
-He's losing his hair and has a receding hairline
-He likes to sleep against our chests and falls asleep when riding in the Moby wrap
-After being burped, he snuggles into our necks
