Brice's Christening

Brice was baptized on Sunday, January 6 in front of a small group of friends and family. His godparents, Veronica and Josh, presided.

 

We were so lucky that Uncle Joe, Aunt Meg, Addy, JW, Liam, Uncle Billy, and Missy stayed with us for the weekend (there was lots of play time enjoyed by all) and Grammy, Grampy, Nonnie, and Pop were here too (but stayed in the slightly quieter, more calm hotel).

Brice at 9 months!

Woah, where did our little baby go? Brice is not a "big guy," as Chase would say, but he sure thinks he is. He crawls away and keeps going when we tell him to come back and he climbs on top of his big brother. We often find ourselves reminding him that he's just a baby. But not for much longer....Brice is still the happiest kid and always has a smile.

 At 9 months, Brice is:

-Crawling super-fast, pulling to standing, and cruising. He's so good at crawling that it is his preferred way of getting around.

-Not afraid to be out of our sight. He speed crawls into the dining room, then turns the corner into the living room where we can't see him. Of course if we call to him, he giggles and keeps going.

-Ironically, Brice is also going through some separation anxiety. He does not like to be left alone (like when one of us has to run with Chase to the potty) and cries. Brice is fine with strangers if one of us is holding him, but hand him to someone he doesn't know and he loses it.

-Lights up when Stephen, Chase, or I are in the room. You should see the smile I get when I get home from work. Brice especially loves his big brother.

-Saying Mama and Baba. Brice is also now makes intonations like a conversation when he makes baby talk noises. And he is noisy!

-"Body-slamming" his brother. Brice climbs over to Stephen or I and falls in our laps and rolls around on us. I think he sees how his brother and Daddy play...

 

-Playing games. Brice plays a mean peek-a-boo. He throws the ball, which consists of him sort of jumping and letting go at the same time. Brice also started dancing to music.

-Clapping hands, doing "so-big," and mastering his pincher grip.

-Paying attention to books. Peek-a-Who is his favorite.

-Loving finger foods, especially pasta. He is already a messy eater and the finger foods make it worse, but it makes him so much happier that it's worth a little bit more cleaning.

-Teething. A top left outer tooth (canine?) just broke through. Add that random one to the two bottom middle teeth. His fingers or toys are always in his mouth...

We love you, sweet Bricey! Happy 9 months! Time is flying, but we are loving every moment with you.
