Brice at 16 months!

Better late than never, I suppose! This little guy (and his big brother) keeps us on our toes! Really, I forgot how exhausting this phase is. It's fun, but Brice also needs someone constantly watching him, lest he get into trouble! He thinks getting into trouble is HILARIOUS, which makes it all the more important that we watch him.

At 16 months, Brice is:
-Saying and repeating a lot of words. Pretty much any word we  say, he will repeat.

-Running
-Climbing. On. Everything.
-Nodding yes and shaking his head for no.
-Loudly making his preferences known....and not agreeing to do what Chase wants to all the time. -Wrestling with his brother
-A contradiction- he cries when I leave for work, but then runs away from me in the park or other public places!

Brice is a bright, sweet, and mostly happy boy. It's amazing to see his personality develop into something so distinct, especially in only a few months time. We're hopeful that has his language develops more, he'll have an easier time communicating and that will reduce his frustration with not getting what he wants. Stay tuned!

Impromptu Zoo Trip

On Sunday, September 15, we woke up to an unseasonably cool, beautiful morning. What do parents in the DC area do when it is unseasonably cool during the low-tourism season? They go to the zoo, of course! It was a great day. I love having such a great (free) zoo so close by.

The orangutans climbed up this structure and took the wires across the park to the other enclosure where they are fed lunch.

The boys were more excited about the carousel than the orangutans. It's got all kinds of animals and is solar-powered. So I agree that it is pretty cool!

On the way out, we stopped to see the big cats.

Summer 2013 Trip to NY

The week of the loudest pool demo, which also happened to coincide with the week our nanny took off to bring her son to college, I (solo) took the boys to NY until Stephen could join us on the weekend. We had a great time with the Zayac cousins, visited Kim, Jackson, and Aidan, and played with Nonnie, Pop, and Uncle Billy. Naturally it was a heat wave, so we spent a lot of time either enjoying the air conditioning or out in the pool.

We attempted a cousin picture, but it has gotten much harder since the original.

Then we enjoyed some time outside

Liam, the dirt monster!

Everyone liked the kiddie pool, except Brice!

Jojo, on the other hand, loved it!

Okay, bro. 1...2...3....

 JUMP!

Brice eventually came around to the water...it was that hot.

It was nice to spend such a long time with our family! Looking forward to doing it again next summer.
