Jersey Shore 2012: Family Time

We didn't spend all of our time at the beach- much of it was spent together in and around the house.

Cousin Erin meeting Brice

We had a terrible storm (not quite a derecho, but pretty close) that knocked out our power for over 18 hours. Luckily it was the day AFTER it was 101 degrees out, but it was still quite warm. Brice and Chase slept in their diapers (and Brice benefitted from the stroller fan).

The storm turned over iron tables, threw deck furniture into pools, and leveled quite a few trees. Perhaps the most entertaining impact was the blow-up pool in the electrical wires!

Once the power was restored, we were back to relaxing in the a/c.

(Look at those feet go!)

And there was lots of brother time!

Next up: 4th of July!

Jersey Shore 2012: The Beach

After we left New York, we headed to the shore house for a little beach vacation with Grammy and Grampy. The most highly anticipated part of this trip was the beach!

Chase wasn't sure what to make of the ocean at first since he's used to swimming in the pool (sans waves), but he quickly warmed up to the salt water and the waves. Daddy took him swimming a bit farther out than Mommy was comfortable with and they both jumped over the waves. Daddy got more than a few waves to the face, but Chase was thrilled to be held far up over them.

Brice wasn't that into the beach or the ocean. We only brought him to the beach twice.

Chase at the beach, July 2010

A few days later, just Mommy, Daddy, and Chase went back to the beach. It was windy and there was a yellow flag so while we couldn't swim, we did have fun digging in the sand and flying a kite.

These pictures fail to capture all of our time at the beach because we spent most of the time playing with a very active and very mobile Chase in the surf and the sand!

New York

Like 2 years ago, we took a "big trip" to the northeast this June to introduce Brice to some more family and get some beach time.

Like his brother before him, Brice helped us pack...

Since we had another little person, albeit small, we had more stuff. So we switched things up and Mueller rode in the front seat. We thought I would be better at entertaining the two kids than he would anyway.

When we go to NY, Brice finally got to meet Uncle Billy...

...And Grandma (and Grandpa but we didn't get a picture with him)...

...and Uncle Douglas.

He also spent some time on Pop's lap.

We spent a lot of time in NY with Uncle Joey, Aunt Meg, and Cousins Addy, JW, and Liam. They are cuties so prepare yourself for lots of pictures. These pictures don't capture all the fun that we had, but there are some pretty great moments.

Brice met his birthday twin (twin) cousins!
(I have a feeling that this is the least active we will ever see these three)

Chase and Addy (and their Dads) both love to swim.

(failed attempt at chicken fights)

They had such a great time playing in Addy's playhouse. They were hilariously domestic.

(I couldn't tell you WHERE Chase got this from...)

Random other pictures from NY..

It was a great trip and we can't wait to see everyone (and those we missed) again soon!
