Time is clipping by and Luke is just growing up and learning more things while I'm left wondering how my baby is growing up so fast. At least half of this month was consumed by a virus that had the kids each sick for 7-10 days and, you guessed it, many sleepless nights. But the good news is that everyone is on the mend!

At 9 months, Luke is:
-Getting big! He's got sweet little rolls on his legs and arms. He's 19lbs 13oz, 29 inches long and has a 17 3/4 inch head circumference. 50th percentile on the new adjusted (Americans are getting bigger) growth charts.
-Crawling, cruising, standing up, and getting down with control. He can squat down to sitting. He can even squat down to pick something up and return to standing. The boy has strong legs.
-Letting go and standing with "no hands!" He can stand up on his own for at least a few seconds without holding. Luke thinks this is funny and will do a "trust fall" into whichever adult is nearby.
-Only eating food out of a squeezie package or that he can feed himself. He basically eats nothing off of a spoon. Luckily we bought these refillable baby food pouches and just pour baby food into them. He eats a lot of finger foods and is getting much better at actually getting them in his mouth.
-Sleeping....or not? Night waking is still an issue and frankly Stephen and I are so tired that we do whatever we can to get him back to sleep as soon as possible...even if it's not a great habit. He still wakes at night, usually once, and has been waking for the day between 6 and 6:30am (although sometimes earlier). Luke has dropped the third nap so it's usually 9am-10:30am and 1 or 1:30pm- 3pm, although the latter in particular is highly variable.
-Nursing less and drinking more formula...but that has more to do with me than him. He has a bottle before every nap, as well as one in the morning when he wakes up and one with dinner. We've also been giving him a cup more, although that just makes a mess.
-Getting into trouble. Luke knows which toys his brothers like and tries to get them. He constantly tries to get magazines in the living room and tear them up. When I'm doing my makeup in the morning, he tries to grab at the makup bag or the brushes or the eye shadow. When he's on the ground in our room, he immediately goes after the wires. It's too soon for all of this!
-Saying "ba ba ba!" First words. He sort of gets that it means bottle, but also just likes saying it.
-Raises his hands above his head to do "so big," claps (sometimes), and waves (sometimes).
It's hard to believe how fast time is passing and how big and active our littlest guy is. Happy 3/4 year, Lukey!
