At 8 months,
-20lbs (when we weighed you during your flu shot appointment)
-After a rough patch of biting while nursing (OUCH!) and then not wanting to nurse, we seem to be in a good rhythm. We are supplementing nursing with Gentlease formula. I had the fear that it was causing your sleep problems, but you are tolerating it fine and doing well with formula and breastmilk now.
-Eating lots of different food, but a strong preference for food that you can pick up and eat yourself. It's a mess, but you love it.
-Crawling fast, pulling up, and starting to cruise. When you are standing up, you'll hook your elbow over the edge of the train table and use both hands to hold a toy. You also get stuck standing and can't get down. Lately, you are bravely letting go, falling, hitting your head (or other body part), and crying. You already have a bruise on your forehead.
-Your default is serious, but you laugh easily.
-You were very clingy during our Christmas trip. You mostly wanted Mommy and were okay with Daddy. Now that we are home, you're completely comfortable.
-Loving your brothers!
-Loving your brothers!
-Not sleeping. You were doing well at the beginning of your month, but then started waking up at 5am for the day. Then we traveled for the holidays and that destroyed any semblemence of sleeping through the night...like up twice at night, sometimes for 2 hours at a time. It was awful. Luckily, you did a little better when we got home, but it's still a rough patch. Mommy is tired.
-Vocal, but not repeating syllables. Luke repeated "ba ba ba" for about a week, but then he stopped. He makes all kinds of noises, though, and sometimes sounds like a pteradactyl. You gotta be loud in this family.
Lukey, we love you so so much! Happy 8 months!
